Culvert Bridge

Here, we installed a 12 x 6 metre culvert bridge over a river to create a new access road to a residential house. The bridge was constructed on two concrete foundations either side of the river, this prevented us from having to disturb the river bed in any way.

1300 tonnes of type 1 stone was then compacted in layers until we reached our desired levels. The banks were protected with a pre seeded grass membrane. We finished with a tarmac apron at the beginning of the entrance and laid a cotswold self binding gravel throughout the rest of the drive way.
